The Role

The Local Project Manager will be the central figure in bringing the Unify program to life in the Iberia Cluster. Unify is a transformational program designed to make Imperial Brands PLC more efficient, simplified, and data-led, with the ultimate goal of embedding new processes and systems that deliver measurable value for markets.

You will be responsible for the market’s end-to-end project plan, acting as the main point of contact and ensuring the successful landing of the program locally. You will oversee test, cutover, transition, go-live, and hypercare activities, coordinate with business leaders, IT, and other stakeholders, and manage risks and dependencies.

This is a highly visible, challenging, and rewarding role that requires exceptional leadership, communication, and organisational skills. You will have the opportunity to shape the future of your market, driving business transformation and ensuring the Unify program achieves its ambitious objectives.

Please note that this role is for 18 months, starting January 2026 and ending June 2027

Location: Madrid - Hybrid (within country)

 

Principal Accountabilities

  • Own the market’s end-to-end project plan and drive successful go-live and hypercare execution.
  • Lead testing activities including SIT, UAT, PVT, defining entry/exit criteria, and coordinating with SMEs and testers.
  • Coordinate data migration and cleansing activities, supporting Data SPOCs, resolving defects, and ensuring local readiness.
  • Manage legacy system transitions and decommissioning in coordination with Local IT and global programme teams.
  • Drive business readiness and change adoption, supporting Local IT Leads, Super Users, and Change Champions.
  • Chair market governance forums, report progress to sponsors, and escalate issues through defined governance channels.

 

Skills and Experience Required

  • Strong experience in managing complex projects, including testing, cutover, and transition phases.
  • Solid understanding of data migration, cleansing, and validation in ERP programmes.
  • Experience in legacy system decommissioning and coordinating IT/BAU transitions.
  • Ability to lead stakeholder engagement and governance, reporting to sponsors and steering committees.
  • Track record of driving business transformation and change adoption locally.
  • Strong coordination and communication skills, managing multiple streams and dependencies simultaneously.
