The Role

As a Treasury Operations Intern you will focus on supporting Treasury Operations for a specific market. You will support daily treasury activities, gain exposure to cash management, payments, liquidity monitoring, reconciliations, and intercompany transactions.

The role is designed to help build foundational treasury skills and apply academic knowledge in a real-world environment. You will have the opportunity to contribute to process enhancements and system optimization, learning how to balance accuracy, timeliness, and continuous improvement in a global corporate setting.

You will have the opportunity to contribute to process enhancement and system optimization. Therefore, candidates with experience or strong interest in automating tasks (e.g., using macros, scripts, Power Automate, or other Office 365 tools) will be especially valued.

Imperial Brands is investing in building a Global Business Services (GBS) Team. Within the organization, the Finance Centre of Capability (CoC) supports core markets with expertise in areas such as Customer to Cash, Tax, Treasury, and Financial Planning. As the CoC is new and growing, you’ll join a dynamic team where processes are evolving, and continuous improvement is part of daily work.

 

Principle Accountabilities

  • Prepare and update daily cash positions for the market.
  • Support liquidity planning and cash flow forecasts.
  • Assist in payment preparation, validation, approval workflows, and tracking.
  • Support control checks, audit trail maintenance, documentation
  • Help prepare periodic treasury reports
  • Assist ad hoc queries by market, local or central treasury, auditors as well as maintain audit trails and process documentation.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Currently pursuing studies in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Information Technology, Programming, or a related field and available to work  min. 25 hours per week (25-35h)
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Teams), in particular Excel, familiarity with macros is preferred
  • Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail
  • Highly motivated team player, eager to learn, and adaptable in a dynamic environment.
  • Basic understanding of finance principles
