The Role

Location: Bristol / Hybrid

Bring your expertise to a truly global, inclusive, and forward‑thinking FMCG organisation. Imperial Brands is home to 25,000 talented people worldwide, and we’re now looking for a Global Safety & Wellbeing Manager to help shape and elevate our Health, Safety & Wellbeing agenda across our Sales & Market operations.

In this pivotal role, you’ll champion safe, compliant and uninterrupted commercial execution, leading the rollout of Group HSW policies, standards and programmes across fleet, field and customer‑facing environments. Working closely with our Global Head of Health, Safety & Wellbeing and senior cross‑functional leaders, you’ll drive consistent practices, embed data‑driven risk management, strengthen wellbeing outcomes, and monitor performance across all markets and routes‑to‑market.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Provide practical, field‑focused HSW expertise to ensure consistent application of Group OHS standards across Sales & Marketing, including fleet safety, field‑force activity and customer environments, while influencing senior stakeholders to embed policies, strategies and programmes globally.
  • Lead global Health & Wellbeing initiatives, driving the consistent use of leading indicators - such as fleet telematics, field exposure data and behavioural insights - to inform targeted interventions and improve performance.
  • Provide leadership and direction to OHS personnel across global Sales functions, managing Group‑wide OHS projects, programmes and standards using advanced project management and strong stakeholder‑influencing skills.
  • Lead or review serious incident investigations, particularly fleet collisions and field‑related events, ensuring robust root‑cause analysis, rapid learning deployment and effective prevention strategies, including providing expert advice to Executive Leadership Team (ELT)/Board level.
  • Own field and fleet HSW standards, ensuring global legislative and international framework compliance, overseeing corrective and preventative actions, and leading the development of dashboards and BI tools that deliver actionable insights for Sales, Markets and the Executive Leadership Team (ELT).
  • Manage OHS KPI analysis for divisional, ELT, Board and external reporting; oversee external suppliers and contractors to ensure cost‑effective delivery; and manage allocated Group OHS budgets responsibly.

Skills and Experience Required

  • NEBOSH‑qualified (Certificate minimum) and TechIOSH member, with strong practical grounding in modern health, safety and wellbeing practice across diverse operational environments.
  • Demonstrated capability in fleet safety management, including effective use of telematics, driver‑behaviour coaching, journey risk assessment and incident‑reduction strategies.
  • Skilled in analysing, interpreting and presenting OHS data—using tools such as Power BI—to deliver clear trends, KPIs and predictive insights for senior leaders, including Board‑level reporting.
  • Proven ability to interpret global H&S legislation and international standards, applying pragmatic, market‑appropriate controls for customer‑facing, field‑based and contractor activities.
  • Effective business partner and collaborator across cultures and functions, influencing behaviour, embedding controls into daily operations, and delivering global programmes through strong project management.
  • Agile, proactive and improvement‑focused, with strong communication skills, technical writing capability, high digital literacy and experience managing third‑party suppliers; comfortable with international travel for operational reviews.
