The Role

As The Corporate Affairs Director you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing Imperial Brands’ Corporate Affairs agenda in Poland, supporting all existing legal business units within the country. You will create and implement integrated, multi-stakeholder plans, aligned with commercial objectives. As a key member of the local management team and the company’s spokesperson, you will influence public perception, regulatory outcomes, and supports long-term business strategy. You will also lead a team of two direct reports.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Corporate Affairs Strategy &Plans development: lead the development and execution of a forward-looking Corporate Affairs strategy for Poland across all product categories (Combustibles, New Generations Products) and business-critical issues. Design and implement integrated, multi-stakeholder plans (involving government bodies, industry associations, NGOs, and media), ensuring alignment of plans with commercial objectives
  • Government & Regulatory Relations: represent company at high-level meetings with governmental stakeholders, cultivating relationships with key political and regulatory stakeholders to proactively shape the policy environment and safeguard the company’s license to operate as well as Industry Representation & Advocacy: represent Imperial Brands within all relevant regulatory and industry bodies in Poland. Influence sector-wide policy and regulatory developments through active leadership and coalition-building.
  • Strategic Planning & Cross-Functional Integration: actively contribute to market-level strategic planning as a core member of the local management team. Provide expert counsel on regulatory and external affairs matters to ensure seamless integration of Sales, Marketing, and Corporate Affairs strategies.
  • Illicit Trade Strategy & Enforcement: design and lead the implementation of an anti-illicit trade strategy in Poland, leveraging cross-sector collaboration and intelligence-led interventions to protect market integrity and revenue, in cooperation with other Corporate Affairs members and functions.
  • Corporate Image & Thought Leadership: shape and elevate the company’s public image through strategic media engagement and executive visibility. Serve as the primary voice of the company in high-impact external forums. Act as the company’s lead spokesperson, driving narrative control and enhancing corporate reputation.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Corporate Affairs experience combined with strong business acumen, commercial awareness and the ability to think and operate strategically at all levels
  • Proven expertise & track record of successes in driving public affairs agenda at corporate environment, preferably at regulated industry. Well established network across political spectrum.  
  • High level of strategic influencing, excellent communication and relationship management skills
  • Pragmatic and resilient mindset, with the ability to navigate setbacks while maintaining a strong drive for results
  • Native-level proficiency in the local market language, with fluent English (both written and spoken)
  • Comprehensive understanding of legal and commercial processes, equally good appreciation of political and regulatory dynamics and main influencers
