The Role

At Imperial Brands PLC, we are seeking a strategic, analytical, and proactive Senior Analyst to support our Next Generation Portfolio (NGP) initiatives and provide critical insights that will shape our market strategy in Portugal.

In this role, you will play a key part in identifying and anticipating market trends, analyzing competitor activity, and assessing the performance of our brands and products. Your insights will directly influence product positioning, pricing strategies, promotional activities, and strategic investments, driving our competitive edge in the market.

Principal Accountabilities

 

  • Market Analysis & Forecasting: Monitor NGP market dynamics, assess growth potential, and analyze competitor activity to develop accurate sales forecasts at the brand and SKU level.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate insights, opportunities, and strategic recommendations to key internal stakeholders, influencing data-driven decision-making.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Track and evaluate competitor strategies, brand positioning, and overall market trends to identify opportunities for differentiation.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Build business cases, conduct post-launch evaluations, and provide recommendations on price positioning and commercial performance.
  • Trade Investment Analysis: Assess the ROI of trade initiatives and optimize resource allocation to enhance profitability.

 

Skills and Experience Required

 

  • Proven experience in business analysis, market research, or commercial strategy. Prior experience in the FMCG industry is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in Excel, data visualization tools, CRM, or data warehousing platforms.
  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present insights effectively across different teams and regions.
  • Fluency in English is required; Portuguese proficiency is a plus.
