Customs Compliance Manager (Hybrid)

The Role:

Are you ready to be at the forefront of international trade and regulatory excellence? As the Customs Compliance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and streamlining customs and excise tax processes across Germany. You'll be the expert guiding our compliance with EU and national regulations, ensuring smooth operations while driving impactful projects that align with our business goals.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Optimize and implement customs and excise tax processes across Germany
  • Monitor EU and German legislation on customs and excise tax
  • Ensure accurate and timely payment of customs duties, import VAT, and excise taxes to German authorities.
  • Lead customs-related projects and serve as the primary representative in projects affecting customs and excise procedures.
  • Act as the main contact for Customs Compliance in Germany, supporting and coordinating process changes with internal and external partners.
  • Manage a team of 4 staff members, overseeing all aspects of people management.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Degree in Economics or a technical field.

  • Experience in customs-related roles, depending on degree.

  • Strong knowledge of EU customs law, excise tax, and goods flow regulations.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and SAP R/3.

  • Excellent analytical skills with a proactive approach to gathering and applying information.

  • Fluency in German and good proficiency in English.
