The Role

We’re looking for a Tax Manager to join our evolving Finance team in Hamburg, supporting Germany and the broader DACH & Eastern Europe cluster. This is an exciting opportunity to play a visible role in a high-impact transformation project.

You’ll begin by overseeing German tax matters, supporting cross-border collaboration, and gradually grow into a strategic regional advisor. Principle Accountabilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for German tax topics and collaborate closely regional teams to ensure compliance and clarity.
  • Serve as a senior advisor for German and regional tax matters, including income tax, VAT, and real estate taxes.
  • Contribute to international tax initiatives, including M&A and regional restructuring, in collaboration with Transfer Pricing and Group Reporting teams.
  • Monitor and assess changes in regional tax legislation, ensuring compliance and providing business-oriented recommendations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to manage tax audits, disputes, and maintain strong relationships with authorities.
  • Enhance tax capabilities across teams through proactive training, guidance, and cooperation with the SSC and local Finance Partners.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Strong knowledge of German tax law, with the ability to translate complex topics into practical advice.
  • Experience working in multinational environments, ideally in operational tax or advisory roles within industry or consulting.
  • Fluency in both German and English, with excellent communication and cross-cultural collaboration skills.
  • Comfortable working in a matrixed, cross-border setup and supporting remote teams through transitions or change.
  • Solid understanding of tax compliance processes, with hands-on experience in tax planning, risk management, and audits.
  • Skilled in digital tools such as SAP and Excel; able to navigate tech-enabled tax environments effectively.
