The Role

As the Business Controller at our Factory in Wilrijk, you’ll be a pivotal partner to the Factory Manager and an essential member of the Factory Leadership Team. Together, you’ll shape the future of the factory, driving strategy and delivering results—all within a leading FMCG company with over 25,000 employees worldwide.

In this exciting role, you’ll step into the shoes of a true Finance Business Partner, reporting directly to the Regional Head of Finance. You’ll lead a dynamic Factory Finance Team of three, collaborating closely with our finance shared service centre to ensure seamless operations. Your key mission? To provide sharp financial and commercial insights to the Factory Leadership Team. You’ll take charge of reporting, forecasting, and budgeting, all while building and maintaining a robust control environment to support the factory’s success.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Acts as a trusted Finance Business Partner to the Factory Manager and Factory Leadership Team, working closely with them to understand performance levels and support robust business decision making.
  • Leads the Factory Finance Team ensuring delivery of objectives and driving personal and professional development of colleagues.
  • Provides accurate, transparent and actionable reporting on the monthly factory financial results, providing clarity on the underlying performance drivers and linking the financial results to the Factory’s non-financial KPI performance.
  • Leads the forecasting and budgeting process, supporting the identification of opportunities for improvement, accurately modelling the development of the financial results and clearly highlighting opportunities and risks.
  • Ensures compliance with all local legislation in areas such as Local GAAP, VAT and Taxes and collaborates effectively in matters related to statutory reporting, statutory audits and tax audits.
  • Partners with the Factory Leadership Team to embed a culture of regular reviews of progress and measurement of outcomes from investment and efficiency initiatives, linking to improved factory performance.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Fluent in both Dutch and English, with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong experience with SAP or major ERP systems, and knowledge of local GAAP with excel skills.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership skills, focusing on people development and fostering a growth mindset with high credibility and accountability.
  • Possesses a deep understanding of business operations and strategic approaches to drive organiSational goals.
  • Evaluates investment opportunities to ensure alignment with business objectives and value creation.
  • Effectively manages stakeholder relationships, influencing and constructively challenging ideas to achieve optimal outcomes.
