The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and proactive Plant Financial Analyst to join our finance team at Imperial Brands in Wilrijk.

In this role, you will apply your in-depth knowledge of Belgian GAAP and local tax regulations to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and internal policies. You will collaborate closely with external auditors and act as a key contact for inquiries from tax authorities during audits and inspections. You’ll also be involved in preparing statutory forecasts and tracking key financial KPIs to support transparent, data-driven decision-making.

As Plant Financial Analyst, you will contribute to the monthly management reporting, focusing on tax, cost performance, and operational KPIs to provide a clear and accurate view of factory performance. You’ll support the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts, working closely with the Cost Accountant to ensure product costs and transfer pricing are accurately managed and aligned with business expectations.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Maintain expertise in Belgian bookkeeping principles, ensuring adherence to legislation, collaborating with auditors, and responding to tax authority inquiries during audits.
  • Oversee monthly and periodic reporting, including tax and KPIs, to deliver accurate insights into factory performance based on validated data from budget owners.
  • Lead the estimation and preparation of annual and quarterly budgets in conjunction with the management team, ensuring accurate product costing and transfer pricing in collaboration with the cost accountant.
  • Work with the cost accountant to ensure proper valuation of insured risks.
  • Calculate corporate tax obligations and supervise VAT submissions to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate finance-related processes and projects, such as ERP implementations and new group insurance, while adhering to internal control guidelines and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Demonstrate experience with ERP systems to troubleshoot common issues, alongside strong Excel skills.
  • Possess a solid understanding of legislation related to bookkeeping, tax, and social law.
  • Communicate fluently in Dutch and English, with the ability to explain complex concepts in simple terms.
  • Exhibit a hands-on, no-nonsense approach; be an independent, confident worker with a can-do mentality.
  • Maintain discretion regarding wage information and other confidential matters.
  • Display strong analytical and logical thinking skills while being organised and capable of working in a structured environment, balancing both a broad overview and attention to detail.
