The role

Imperial Brands are currently recruiting for a IT Category Manager to come and join us in our Warsaw office.

This is an exciting, challenging, hands on role where you will make a significant contribution to our fast paced business by joining our IT Procurement Team. 

You will develop and execute global, enterprise wide category strategies whilst working in partnership with key global stakeholders, other category teams, suppliers and external partners.

You will provide commercial and market intelligence to internal stakeholders to support strategic planning and project delivery. Drive efficiencies, mitigate risks and maximise value generation to Imperial Brands.

You will also manage a small team of direct reports, ensuring the appropriate expectations, principles, structures, tools and responsibilities are in place to deliver the plan and deliver excellence, whilst providing performance management, technical development and coaching.

Please note we work on a 50% hybrid working model, so you will be expected to be in our Warsaw off 50% of your time. Some international travel will be required when needed. 

Principle Accountabilities

  • Category Managers are responsible for managing and coordinating all strategic and tactical sourcing activities within their category including development, implementation, management, and performance of sourcing strategies within a given category, to meet business goals and objectives
  • Execute category strategies through close collaboration with key business stakeholders, suppliers and buyers
  • Develop and maintain a sustainable and reliable supplier base to mitigate supply risk for the category
  • Manage the assessment, selection and development of strategic suppliers to meet cost, performance goals while delivering an optimal quality
  • Perform supplier relationship management with key suppliers and support supplier management activities with the procurement excellence team. Maintaining a vendor performance database & ensures the SRM program is delivered as per Global Procurement plan
  • Conduct research and benchmarks on current market trends, developing technologies, and supply/demand challenges to gain a competitive advantage and drive continuous improvement

Skills and Experience Required

  • Current or previous IT Category / Procurement Management experience is essential
  • Demonstratable IT category and commercial knowledge and experience with a proven record of accomplishment in delivering IT procurement
  • Proven track record of influencing and managing internal and external stakeholders, and in managing strategic relationships.
  • Experience in managing large budgets
  • Strong ability to collaborate in a multi-cultural environment
  • Fluent oral and written English is essential
