The role

The Transformation Programme Planner is accountable for ensuring the alignment and integration of programme plans, for risk management/escalation and for communicating the status to key stakeholders. The role will provide key support in helping Imperial Brands meet its transformation goals.

Key accountabilities

Integrated design and deployment planning of transformation activities:

  • Maintain the integrated programme plan, ensure key milestones are kept up to date and the plan is on track;
  • Maintain the deployment roadmap and communicate to the programme team a consolidated view of workstream deployment activities;
  • Support with the follow-up on programme backlog items and meeting actions.


Assist with the management of programme planning meetings/assets:

  • Plan and lead the Programme Weekly Planning meeting, recording and following up on actions;
  • Plan and lead the twice monthly PMO Network, ensuring alignment across all aspects of the programme;
  • Maintain the programme MS Teams channels, ensuring the structure is up to date and that appropriate access rights and delegations are in place;
  • Maintain and review the programme governance artifacts, propose changes as the programme evolves;
  • Where required, support with the co-ordination and content collation for wider Programme meetings e.g., ELT meetings, Programme Core Team, Global Deployment Leads.

Manage programme progress reporting and tracking and support with risk management:

  • Work with project and workstream teams to consolidate status of all key design stage gates and deployment timeframes, escalating any impacts to programme delivery;
  • Act as key point of contact for workstream PMOs to ensure plan is on track;
  • Maintain the programme’s Risk and Issue log, ensure that its periodic review and follow up on actions.

Skills & experience

  • At least 12 months working in a large scale project or programme;
  • Experience working in a large consumer goods organisation;
  • Project Management qualification;
  • Use of Microsoft Office in consolidating data, building dashboards and preparing presentations - demonstrated practice;
  • Creation of templates for planning & reporting;
  • Risk Management;
  • Impact presentations;
  • Communications Management and clear communicator across all levels and geographies;
  • Highly adaptable around the changing needs of the programme;
  • Builds strong relationships with project teams;
  • Self-driven with a track record of delivery.
