The role

We are looking for a Senior Pricing Analyst for our office in Oosterhout. In your role you will be responsible for optimizing the Imperial Brands Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg share and profit goals, using pricing as a sales growth lever. You will further develop and implement the pricing strategy and plan based on actionable pricing insights that deliver Imperial Brands BeNeLux objectives.

Your tasks consist of various types of analysis, like competitor pricing intelligence, price performance and historical price analysis. In your structured thinking processes you identify patterns and relationships relating to the strategic pricing intelligence landscape by making links and associations between data. You ensure that pricing insights are synthesized and communicated adequately and timely to all relevant stakeholders in the business. You focus on local pricing strategy and tactics and support operational and strategic decision making with your valued insights.

Key accountabilities

  • Use internal and external research and data to understand competitor strategies and plans. Identify competitive risks and opportunities related to pricing;
  • Identify research requirement, develop business case, project proposal and research brief in collaboration with Consumer & Trade Insights to conduct a pricing study;
  • Identify and analyse the historical consumer response to pricing changes to generate actionable pricing insights and opportunities for revenue growth. Conduct pricing trend and brand move analysis;
  • Develop, set-up and maintain pricing models and gather relevant data to conducts scenario modelling. Utilise these insights to determine the best pricing options;
  • In collaboration with Finance manage the strategic pricing process in each market unit in collaboration with the Pricing Teams including competitor analysis and pricing strategy aligned with global positioning guidelines;
  • Actively facilitate the structural and ad-hoc Pricing Team meetings in both the Netherlands and Belux with pricing analysis and insights;
  • Develop proposals for local pricing tactics in collaboration with the Pricing Teams;
  • Utilise scenario analysis and pricing research and insights to identify optimal price points for each market;
  • Prepare and present PT proposals and recommendations to the Leadership Team and in collaboration with Finance the Group Pricing Center of Excellence following the Pricing Approval Process;
  • Ensure approved pricing moves are clear and timely communicated to relevant stakeholders responsible for the executional follow up;
  • Develop price performance reporting and analyze and assess price performance against KPIs and targets;
  • Evaluate the impact of pricing activities and conduct root cause analysis to develop a more detailed understanding of price elasticity;
  • Ensure maintenance and availability of pricing information and insights via standardized reporting or in an appropriate aligned format, written or verbal, targeted to the needs of the target audience.

Skills & experience

  • Bachelor or Masters degree in Business Economics / Administration or Econometrics or equivalent;
  • Relevant experience in similar FMCG company;
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in analytical roles with a focus on pricing and profitability;
  • Experience with (cross-) price elasticities, modeling and conjoint studies;
  • Highly numerate and analytical with advanced MS Excel skills, database interpretation and management as well as ability to master new systems quickly;
  • A proven track record in delivering and presenting proposals;
  • Understanding and keen interest in developing commercial strategy;
  • Understanding of market dynamics and environmental drivers;
  • Well-developed communication skills verbally and written;
  • Stress resistant, integer and independent and flexible;
  • Taking ownership and ability to partner effectively with stakeholders;
  • English fluency in both writing and verbal communication, fluency in French or Dutch a nice to have.
