The role

Senior IT Business Partner

Here at Imperial Brands we have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior IT Business Partner to join our Enabling Functions Business Partnering group within Global IT. Reporting to the Head of IT, Business Partner Enabling Functions, you will be the focal point for the Functional Leadership Teams for global support functions including Group Finance and Group HR among others. You will lead the engagement with the business units developing their IT portfolio, shape the IT demand, and provide oversight to cross functional IT team members and SMEs. Your main focus will be to manage the below core IT processes up to delivery of best in class business engagements:

  • Business Planning and Business Relationship Management
  • IT Investment Planning & Demand Management
  • Business Change Management
  • Benefit Realisation and Financial Management

Key accountabilities

  • Develop and execute a plan for stakeholder engagement with the Functional Leadership Team and key direct reports.
  • Ensure delivery of Global IT services and fit-for-purpose IT solutions as agreed in the account plan in coordination with Global Solution Delivery and Global IT Operations.
  • Capture, assess and drive prioritisation of technology demand for the business functions to validate, identify solutions, and develop business cases.
  • Drive a “business-first” mentality at all levels of Global IT organisation.
  • Work with Global IT Enterprise Architecture and Strategy to provide insight and advice to stakeholders on opportunities, alternatives, risks and benefits of using technology to build competitive advantage and improve business performance.
  • Work with business stakeholders to manage project delivery, lead change management and drive benefits realisation via solutions delivered.
  • Lead and coach internal and external resources while proactively driving the Global IT change agenda and its successful implementation.

Skills & experience

Essential

  • Substantial knowledge of the functional business processes i.e. Finance, Procurement & HR at group level.
  • Understand relevant technology choices and market trends relevant to support function areas.
  • Demonstrable experience in strategic planning, business development, or client management, with the ability to influence key stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and presentation skills with an ability to engage and confidently challenge senior stakeholders in both commercial and IT contexts.
  • Commercial mind-set with considerable business acumen and literacy along with the ability to manage a high degree of business interaction.
  • Experience of Programme Management. Project Management or Solution Delivery in a global and culturally diverse environment.

Desirable

  • Experience of leading cross functional teams in a Matrix environment.
  • Previous experience selecting and implementing software, hardware and IS services for Enabling Functions
  • Extensive knowledge of business and IT processes
  • Knowledge of the Tobacco industry & Next Generation Tobacco products.
  • Experience in some or all of the following Finance systems, Procurement systems, Procurement, HR Systems, BI systems including Microsoft, SAP, Workday and similar enterprise systems.
  • IT Service Management (ITIL etc.)
  • MBA
