The role

As Senior Investor Relations Manager you will support the Director of Investor Relations in building deep long-term relationships with equity analysts and key shareholders across all geographies. This is an opportunity to join us at an interesting time as our new CEO completes his strategic review and we look to communicate the new strategy to investors.

You will support the delivery of a proactive programme of investor communications that raises the profile of Imperial with investors and improve investor understanding of the business, strategy, its business model and opportunities to create value.  The purpose of the programme is to provide a significant step change in investor communications activity to improve Imperial Brand's share of voice. You will also provide cover and support to the Director of IR in their absence.

Key accountabilities

  • Taking the lead in meeting with investors and sell-side analysts
  • Undertake a proactive campaign of investor outreach to attract and retain investors
  • Responding to analyst/investor enquiries about the business
  • Support the drafting of the Group’s results materials including the drafting timetable, the press release, slides and script and back-up pack
  • Support the identification and adoption of best practices in investor relations into Imperial’s ways of working.
  • Design, develop and deliver a programme of investor communications that extends beyond the normal reporting schedule. This will involve working with many different aspects of the business.
  • The programme includes regular seminar series consisting of regular in-depth updates that provide investors with greater insight into the business and its value creation opportunities
  • Assist the Director of Investor Relations with the development of investor days including a drafting timetable, working with presenters on their slides and scripts, supporting the ancillary displays and other collateral material
  • Support the preparation of investor presentations and scripts for investor conferences and seminars
  • Developing Q&As to support management ahead of presentations and meetings

Skills & experience

  • Graduate with ideally a professional finance qualification
  • Preference for someone with a knowledge of IR and equity market practices and disclosure rules for stock exchanges on which Imperial Brands shares are traded.
  • Proven track record of communication in different forums – particularly from an equity market sales experience.
  • Ability to influence others, deliver goals often under highly fluid, ambiguous and pressured circumstances.
  • Ideally with experience of supporting investor relations and dealing with different corporate situations, such as profit warnings, capital raising, M&A, etc
