For our Consumer Marketing team in Hamburg, we are looking for a Senior Brand Manager West – Cluster DACH (m/f/d)!ge

The Role

The role holder will be part of the Consumer Marketing team, Cluster DACH, reporting directly to the Head of Brands West & Portfolio. The Senior Brand Manager West (m/f/d) will be responsible for aligning Brand Strategy in the Cluster, developing the Market Execution Plan (MEP) and executing the planned initiatives in Germany. The successful individual will work in close cooperation with the Global and Regional Marketing & Portfolio Management teams and will play a pivotal role in developing West brand in Germany. He/she will be also responsible for co-creating consumer relevant initiatives and toolkits fulfilling market needs.

What are your major duties?

The successful applicant will be responsible for the adaptation of the Global deliverables to the Cluster needs, managing the following areas.

Strategic & MEP Planning

  • Define an insights based Brand strategy for the German market based on international guidelines reflecting business plan targets and ensuring brand equity building
  • Develop holistic MEP incl. consumer relevant brand & product initiative pipeline

Brand Equity

  • Monitor Brand Health and propose relevant actions to improve it
  • Co-create with Global Marketing & Portfolio Brand House, Brand Positioning Campaigns across touchpoints ensuring relevance for local consumer  
  • Develop and lead brand experience (activation) approach across consumer touchpoints based on global guidelines

Portfolio and Innovation

  • Deliver a market specific, consumer centric portfolio architecture based on international brand specifications in line with target consumer needs & market trends / demand shifts, co-create brand drumbeat
  • Ensure effective and efficient implementation and evaluation of brand/product initiatives incl. comprehensive preparation of respective business cases

The role will encompass:

  • Continually reviewing & analysing brands’ performance, building on consumer insights
  • Ensuring execution excellence and cross-functional exchange of relevant key learnings
  • Initiating quantitative and qualitative market research to derive insight-based growth opportunities in cooperation with I&I
  • Leading and/or being part of cross functional business growth projects, engaging stakeholders and ensuring business adoption
  • Ensuring efficient and result-oriented management of diverse stakeholders

Who are you?

  • University degree in Economics, Business Administration or comparable education
  • 6 to 10 years professional experience in Brand Marketing
  • Sales and or Trade Marketing experience desirable
  • Minimum 3-5 years proven experience in an FMCG environment, ideally in Germany, tobacco experience welcome
  • Proven track record of consumer centric marketing thinking
  • Excellent analytical skills and very strong conceptual, planning and strategic skills
  • Self-confident and comfortable dealing with stakeholders from all levels
  • Curious, flexible, organised and able to handle multiple projects at the same time
  • Results driven with initiative and ability to work autonomously
  • Leadership experience desirable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Very good knowledge and experience in using the MS office is required
  • English fluent in spoken and written, German desirable
