The role

Release Manager
12 month FTC, Full time

Here at Imperial Brands we have a brand-new opportunity for a Release Manager to join our Global IT organisation. Reporting into the Service Transition Lead, you will work closely with the Change Manager and other Service owners across Service Delivery, you will be responsible for the governance and daily operation activities associated with the Release and Deployment Management process within Global IT. You will define an appropriate Release Strategy for all critical services and implement Release Management processes, controls, and tools.

Key accountabilities

  • Define and establish a best in class global release process strategy.
  • Ensure the established standard release process is adopted and embedded across all critical services by conducting a review of current processes where they exist, updating processes where necessary and implementing where none are in place.
  • Establish a release calendar for each critical service.
  • Work with stakeholders within IT to ensure planning, scheduling, and successful deployment of release to the production environment in a controlled and systematic way.
  • Ensure suitable management processes, tools, techniques, and personnel are in place for all releases.
  • Increase efficiency and quality of releases through quality controls, the use of tools, integration of tools and automation.
  • Own and chair regular meetings for each critical service

Skills & experience

  • Proven knowledge and experience of tools, technologies and methods in Release and Change Management with strong experience establishing Release Management strategies in large multinational organisations.
  • Educated to degree level, ideally in Information Technology, Engineering Business, Economics or equivalent.
  • ITIL qualified, preferably in Release Management
  • Good communications skills and confident in building and managing key relationships.
  • Previous experience with ServiceNow and Jira
  • Knowledge of the consumer products industry, with tobacco industry knowledge is an advantage.
