The role

As Quality Control Analyst you'll provide direct support to the Laboratory Manager in the management of the day-to-day aspects of the QC Department.  You'll support the quality function and ensure accurate/timely analysis for routine and non-routine products. You'll check and validate all analysis performed by the QC team and be highly competent in analytical techniques.

Key accountabilities

  • Perform routine/non-routine analysis in a safe and timely manner, adhering to current GxP/GLP requirements
  • Report/rectify all deficiencies, incidents and failures in relation to QC equipment, procedures and/or results
  • Actively participate in problem solving and root cause analysis
  • Organise & perform all routine/non-routine QC work & solve technical issues
  • Produce & maintain all relevant documents such as; written reports, validation documents, SOP's and QC records
  • Pass or reject raw material, components or products based on the evaluation of analytical specification(s)
  • Effectively liaise with QA, Production, Warehouse, Planning departments on relevant QC matters
  • Organise & maintain QC laboratory stock levels
  • Manage QC related software
  • Support the introduction and validation (IQ, OQ, PQ) of new/existing equipment
  • Support development of new/junior analysts, as required

Skills & experience

  • Experience of working in a Quality Control related role in the Pharmaceutical  or similar industry
  • Practical knowledge of HPLC, GC, Titration
  • Demonstrated ability to implement procedures & processes which ensure compliance to GxP and other relevant regulatory standards
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills
  • Strong technical, analytical, and writing skills
  • Good level of IT skills
  • Decisive thinker able to work within agreed timescales
  • Experience of conducting quality based investigations and root cause analysis

Qualifications:

  • Degree in chemistry or related discipline is essential
  • 2+ years prior experience working in a pharmaceutical/regulated laboratory is essential
