The role

For our Global Engineering team in Langenhagen, we are looking for a Project Engineer (m/f/d)!

What are your major duties?

  • Managing of engineering-based implementation projects from concept to installation and handover. This includes client and supplier liaison, specification generation and approval, budget control, effective time management, etc.
  • Planning and coordination of projects across geographically diverse IB locations. This may include coordination and management of contractors as well as factory-based resources
  • Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing project elements
  • Support with global initiatives such as Spare parts & machine obsolescence mgmt. as well as Imperial business processes such as Capital planning
  • Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems
  • Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan, scheduling changes, and recommending actions as well as project costs by approving expenditures and administering contractor contracts
  • Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions
  • Maintains project data base by writing computer programs; entering and backing up data, maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations
  • Lead the development and implementation of new equipment to improve the manufacturing efficiency
  • Awareness of evolving legislation relevant to machinery installations and upgrades, in order to supply solutions in line with legal requirements as well as supplier developments and strategy to drive Global Engineering standards
  • Provide input into best practice process development (such as spare parts mgmt.)
  • Involvement with Ops Engineering Global Task force

Who are you?

  • University degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Food Processing, Data Science, Computer/Information Science or other similar technical discipline
  • Several years engineering experience in an FMCG environment
  • Demonstrable project management skills (especially in international projects)
  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills and Cultural understanding, ability to work in an international team
  • Track record of delivering complex high value projects
  • Excellent communication skills (towards senior management and in cross-cultural teams)
  • Fluent in English language both written and spoken, German and/or other languages an advantage
  • Willingness to travel
