The role

As a Portfolio Manager your main goal will be to support the product teams to deliver against the brand’s objectives.
You will work closely with Product Owners and a highly efficient team of fellow Portfolio Managers to solve operating challenges, bring alignment amongst the portfolio as well as the  product team itself and ensure that the overall roadmap is being delivered on time and in sync with the rest of the business’ divisions.
Serving not only as an important resource for the product team in terms of project management, the portfolio management team will be looking strategically on behalf of the brand at portfolio management globally. You will be leading and managing the strategies for responsible portfolio items/brands; developing business plans and strategic brand plans for products old and new.

Key accountabilities

  • Work with product teams – liaise amongst this group with internal and external parties to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of product development – enabling product owners to truly immerse themselves in solving the challenges they are facing.
  • Manage the development of strategic brand plans in conjunction with all relevant stakeholders, covering key strategies, objectives and the development of programs to deliver volume targets.
  • Lead the execution of business plans and monitor the delivery of these plans against all KPI’s including agreed timelines and budget .
  • Play a central lead role in the delivery of the responsible portfolio KPI's as well as monitoring portfolio performance data, recommend changes/revisions to the portfolio strategy as required.
  • Develop the product portfolio strategy alongside the brand team understanding brand positioning, target consumer analysis and full marketing mix development.
  • Manage the responsible portfolio budget, ensure the maximum ROI for each project. Ensure that budgetary spend is allocated according to guidelines, minimize deviation from the planned budget.
  • Manage non-portfolio based common projects (cost optimization, portfolio rationalization, sales projects, regulatory implementation, etc)

Skills & experience

  • Developing portfolio performance tracking and manage this process – enabling key stakeholders to understand roadmap delivery success and the effect this is having to underpin brand performance and consumer acquisition / retention.
  • Contributing to the development and execution of new product launch plans using category trends, market and consumer insights, competitive reactions while taking into account regulatory restrictions.
  • In a similar role within global FMCG having experienced portfolio management across multiple markets.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office (esp. Powerpoint & Excel) Good analytical skills and business acumen required.
