The NGP Procurement Manager is accountable for: • Leading the procurement project engagement and collaboration with cross functional teams (Innovations, Quality, Operation, MSC, Legal, Group Science, Category and Finance teams), driving robust and transparent procurement decision-making, in support of Imperial Brands Ideation to launch (I2L) development process. • Development and Execution of procurement commodity strategies for NGP products to deliver the Category’s product roadmap and innovation pipeline to the product supply strategy. Representing Procurement delivering the project status in the relevant Category I2L stage gate forum. • Procurement and project management capabilities to transfer NGP concepts to mass production & drive continuous improvement in cost, quality, and delivery. • In depth knowledge of best procurement practices and processes to support new product development programs. • Demonstrable history of procurement success in new technology introduction, sourcing & supply chain utilising external partners. Experience with South East Asia sourcing. • Development, implementation, and successful execution of NGP procurement processes in line with business processes and existing Global Procurement policy. • A self-starter with the ability to drive procurement project activity in an efficient and organised manner. • Development, implementation, successful execution and continuously review of the Product Supply Strategy in conjunction with Category, Innovations, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance and Technology Realisation. • Accountable for new supplier onboarding and complying to IMB standards and ways of working • Interface regularly with Senior Forums within IMB to align and make recommendations on Strategic topics. • Negotiate Costs for new designs as well as annual negotiation • Ensure a cost-conscious attitude is embedded in the department with close controls on Transfer Costs to increase margins and company profit. • Pro-actively drive and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team and beyond to drive costs down while maintaining quality. • Generate, embed and continuously improve Procurement best practice SOPs to support all procurement processes within NGP Category team. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of said processes and procedures. • Control the NGP Approved Vendor List • Drive capability gap analysis. • Awareness of evolving legislation and collaboration with the Regulatory team required to ensure compliance for all product and process introductions or changes; support PMTA submissions as required. Mechanical / Electrical or FMCG categories considered. • Proven experience in onboarding new partners • Proven experience with new product and/or process introductions. • Proven experience in project management • Able to deal with a changing environment and with change-able requirements. • Analytical and Strategic • Technology / manufacturing industry background preferred, with experience in component sourcing both in UK / EU and South East Asia. • Fluent oral and written English is essential • Cross cultural experience is preferred Some domestic and international travel on short notice likely to be required • Working in a regulated environment (automotive, aerospace, medical device, pharma etc.) • Product design and development experience • Experience with supply chains • Experience with conducting supplier audits • Dealing with overseas suppliers on a global scale • Delivery of cost reduction programmes A structured approach to planning and the use of problem solving tools.
