The role of the Key Account Analyst is to fully support the Key Account function by providing up to the minute reporting requirements for the team and our trade customers. This includes providing analysis and insight on KPIs and performance dynamics such as volume, revenue, share and availability. The role ensures that all key account administration is always maintained to a high standard. The role involves cross functional work and support both internally and externally.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop both personally and commercially as a valuable member within a dynamic Key Account Management team, who work with some of the largest retailer and wholesaler groups in Ireland. You will play a key role in growing John Player’s market share in our core Tobacco category, alongside our new Next Generation Product (NGP) category in Ireland.

Key accountabilities

  • Develop quantified recommendations and insights to highlight opportunities and provide various options for corrective action
  • Performance Reporting - provide visibility of John Player performance by account
  • Support the KA team in the delivery and implementation of compelling Customer Development Plans with aligned customer KPI’s in order to maximize volume, profit and market share performance
  • Support the KA team in the completion of customer or account administration – pricing proposals, monitoring of key metrics, system set-up, provision of product information etc
  • Establish close working business relationships with appropriate contacts in the account ensuring a ‘right first time’ mentality of supplier service
  • Collaborate, inform and share account knowledge with other key functions to help create commercial and trade strategies

Skills & experience

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree or in business, sales, marketing, economics, or other related discipline
  • Commercial and sales oriented
  • Excellent analytical skills with ability to make key recommendations to the business
  • Results focused with excellent, numeric and data handling skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build excellent cross functional relationships
  • A passion for working with customers in real partnership – the ability to stand your ground but to do so with a sense of mutual partnership is critical
  • Proactive, confident, self-motivated and enthusiastic attitude which can enthuse and motivate others
  • Independent with the ability to work unsupervised
  • Experience in Sales or Trade marketing within FMCG industry is an advantage but not essential
  • Proficient in using all Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excel - fully proficient
