The role

IT Testing Lead

Here at Imperial brands we have a brand-new opportunity for a Testing Lead to join our Global IT organisation. Reporting into the Head of Global Solution Delivery, in this new role you will lead the establishment, development and running of the testing function within Global Solutions Delivery.

This is an exciting time to join the team as IT embarks on a transformation to become a truly global IT function and this role will be instrumental in establishing the testing processes to enable consistency and best in class practices across the company.

Key accountabilities

  • Accountable for developing the testing strategy within IT and building the execution to deliver it.
  • Establish, manage and support test teams.
  • Provide strategic overview to ITLT to aid decision making including key risks, issues and dependencies that may impact the overall ability to deliver the strategy.
  • Make decisions in relation to procurement of Software Testing tools for the organisation and identify which tools are best suited for a given project.
  • Management of Test delivery resource including internal teams and third party vendors.
  • Accountable for testing tools ensuring they are suitable to support IT project delivery

Skills & experience

  • Proven track record in personally managing the delivery of complex, cross-functional and cross-geography IT portfolios and large global IT programmes
  • Considerable experience in the development of IT Test methods, ideally building new capability.
  • Demonstrated experience setting up an IT Test function from scratch within a complex, global environment.
  • Strong communication, leadership and coaching skills with a proven ability to build and manage key relationships with internal IT and business stakeholders.
  • Strong experience in functional and non-functional testing including Performance and Automation.
  • Familiarity with testing tools and standards.
  • Engaging and a strong influencer able to influence across all areas of the business.
  • Experience in Agile or Waterfall environments (both would be desirable).
  • Extensive knowledge of the consumer products industry with tobacco knowledge would be an advantage.
  • ISTQB certification would be an advantage.
