The role

We are currently recruiting for a Store Development manager to join the Trade Marketing Department. The position will be based in our Bristol Head office and may require some travel within the UK.

As the In-Store Development Manager you would be responsible for maximizing ITL’s competitive advantage in all Trade Segments through the development, testing, evaluation and placement of an effective range of product display material and assets which is driven by a thorough understanding of consumer shopping behaviour, retailer operational requirements and legislative restrictions. This includes a substantial investment in tobacco gantries as well as building new solutions for NGP/Rizla stock holding and product glorifier solutions.

Key accountabilities

  • Supervise the day to day tasks of the Furniture Project Manager to ensure this significant investment programme is rolled out on time and on budget with no impact of quality
  • Define tobacco furniture strategy including retailer contractual obligations, KPIs and policies/SLAs for installation and maintenance
  • Review existing tobacco furniture designs and update to ensure they are fit for future
  • Identifying gaps in furniture coverage and opportunities to steal from OM in order to drive market share
  • Review existing estate of NGP & Rizla merchandising and display solutions, identifying opportunities to update branding, increase impact and roll out to additional stores
  • Establishing close working relationships with brand chassis managers and Trade Segment managers in order to make sure all new launches and activities are supported with appropriate merchandising and product display solutions
  • Allocating budget to furniture and design any furniture required
  • Negotiating costs for standard units, component materials, specific display solutions, and installation with the supply base including storage.
  • Working with sales support to ensure agency / field force SLAs are being achieved allowing execution of furniture strategy
  • Overseeing the performance of manufacturing and installation companies, taking appropriate remedial actions as required.
  • Identifying new sources of design via the appointment of appropriate design and research agencies.
  • Work with key account team in support of account specific development prototypes.
  • Reporting on, and evaluating, competitor in store activity.
  • Developing sales force support materials to ensure that ITL’s furniture is the preferred supply option for the trade

Skills & experience

  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint experience;
  • Ability to handle complex data.
  • CAD design experience
