For our HR team in Hamburg, we are looking for a Head of Employee Relations (m/f/d).

The role

As Head of Employee Relations you will ensure the development and implementation of the Employee Relations Strategy in all German legal entities. You will support the HR Director in managing all employee-related activities to ensure compliance with individual and collective labor law. Ensure a full and successful Employee Relations programme leadership of all transformation projects on a country and site level.

What are your major duties?

  • Guarantee an encompassing approach and an effective consultation process
  • Own Employee Relations agenda in German legal entities
  • Strong collaboration with the HR Director in all works council and trade union related matters regarding transformation, implementation of Imperial Brands policies, bargaining and Compensation & Benefits agreements, (general) works agreements and transformation processes including re-structuring.
  • Support of the HR Director and HRBPs in ensuring compliance with individual and collective labor law and preparation and management of extra-procedural and procedural correspondence or support of HRBPs in this regard
  • Ensure implementation of Imperial Brands policies including localization
  • Design and supervise local projects according to co-determination requirements
  • Act as the key contact and establish a trust relationship to the works council, the trade union (incl. negotiations on pay- and collective bargaining agreements), and the external labor lawyers
  • Build the legal framework with external lawyers
  • Plan, monitor, and report the budget for the area of responsibility
  • Representation of the company at the Labor Court
  • Readiness to join and / or lead projects

Who are you?

  • You have successfully completed studies in law / German employment law or you are a full-time lawyer (labor law/business law)
  • You have a minimum of 5 years  proven experience in the field of Employee Relations within FMCG
  • Experience in transformation processes incl. continuous integration of concepts and tools
  • Experience in working in complex / matrix organizations
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills: High social competence, diplomatic skills and communication and argumentation skills as well as the ability to work in a team
  • Very good stakeholder management skills
  • Change management capabilities
  • Strong conceptual, planning, and strategic skills
  • Fluent German and English language skills – ideally German native speaker
