The role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our Finance function. Your working week would be split between working within the Bristol Head Office and working remotely. This is a 12 month FTC.

We are looking for a candidate who has an inquisitive mind set and interested in making an impact, while adding value to the business.

As a member of the UK Sales and Marketing Finance Record to Report team, you would be responsible to assist within the production of all reporting requirements to meet the needs of the business and in accordance with Head Office’s standards and timescales.

You would also be providing financial support on various areas including month end closure, Balance sheet reconciliations, Duty, Tax and to produce the Year on Year Management accounts packs and business partnering with internal and external stakeholders.

Key accountabilities


  • Orchestrate the UK Market price increase process (MPI / Budget Revaluations / Annual TP Increase)
  • Stock revaluation release based on sales volumes
  • Cigar Weight Review and correct setup for Import Duty
  • Stock takes with Internal Stakeholders
  • Raising Intercompany Stock credit notes/debit notes
  • NTM + FGWO Write Off procedure (Budget distributions / Scrapping Journal)


Fixed Assets

  • Fixed Assets Business Partner with Internal Stakeholders
  • Manage Fixed Asset Internal Order Budgets


Balance Sheet

  • Co-ordinate and Collate the monthly Balance Sheet review file
  • Ensure all supporting reconciliations tie to the Trial Balance
  • Ensure all differences are raised to either the Senior Financial Accountant or UKI Cluster Financial Controller



  • Calculate, compose and submit the UK VAT Returns.
  • Review the Intrastat return prior to IBM submission
  • Manage the PSA calculation process
  • Tax award scheme
  • Prepare the monthly TP7 duty payment.
  • Prepare Monthly Tax Packs
  • VAT code checks on non PO invoices
  • Assist in Tax Audits
  • Group Tax Business Partnering
  • Review EC Sales list prior to IBM submission



  • Ensure all posting are correctly reporting/posting by IBM are correct and reconcile.
  • Liaise with intercompany Stakeholders (IBM/Imperial) in any queries arise escalating to Senior Financial Accountant if unable to resolve

Skills & experience


  • Excellent PC skills – Microsoft Office, SAP
  • Experience within a time pressured finance department with tight reporting deadlines.
  • AAT or Part Qualified Accountant
  • Previous Finance experience
  • Ability to prioritise workload and time management skills whilst working under pressure providing accurate data.
  • Communicate in a confident manner to all levels.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work with discretion.



  • Experience with Basware / SRM / Concur
