The role

Fontem Ventures is looking for a Distribution Planner. In this role, you will be a partner for our export markets and you will be responsible for ensuring continuous market supply for the defined specific area. You have the responsibility for import and export operations in Europe, for internal, as well as external markets. It is your drive to satisfy the customer demand timely at the right place, in the right quality and quantity as well as at the most efficient cost. You will handle customer-relevant information regarding sales and manufacturing and commercial and logistical execution of customer orders, in consideration of internal rules and guidelines, as well as international rules like the ICC Incoterms and all tax and customs issues.

Key accountabilities

Market & Customer Management:
• Build expertise and understanding for the assigned markets & customers with regard to trends, legal changes, customs requirements for export and all market-relevant specifics
• Understand and follow up concerning portfolio in terms of plans and projects, incl. phase in / phase out ensuring timely master data availability for new products in SAP
• Regular market visits to improve customer relationships and market knowledge

Demand Management:
• Sales Forecast Accuracy checks on SKU level
• Review monthly forecast update in parallel with Operations Planning activities on SKU level
• Ensure proper forecast consumption by the orders. Order Management:
• Receive and check feasibility of orders (incl. regarding payment terms & conditions) and order entry
• Commit to volumes and timings towards the customer in the context of Available to promise
• Supervise and coordinate status and fulfilment of production as well as order processing (order portfolio follow up) by challenging and collaborating with involved key players
• Release orders to dispatch locations
• Active order tracking (order status reporting)

Network Planning:
• Demand and supply balance checks: Identify shortages / unbalanced situations and initiate corrective actions in order to solve issues
• Reporting and monitoring of market-specific stocks in all relevant locations
• Release and supervise transports to ensure availability of stocks at the right time at the right place to avoid OOS and shortages
• Stock Monitoring and Obsolescence Management
• Monitor pro-actively market respective stock in all relevant factories and warehouses to avoid over ageing and write-offs
• Create understanding for impact of projects, launches, etc. on stock and to initiate respective actions in order to prevent obsolescence where possible

Skills & experience

• Completed professional training in wholesale & export trades resp. export merchant or comparable professional training
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Logistics/Customer Service
• Excellent SAP knowledge, as well as MS Office
• English fluent. Additional foreign language desirable
• Well-developed analytical skills
• Good ability to communicate with external and internal contacts/departments in differing cultures and countries, intercultural competencies
• Flexible, fast learning and responsive to changes
• Team player
