The role

Are you looking to joining a global organisation who is revolutionizing the digital landscape? We are looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a team, who is passionate about making improvement and changes within the IT space. We are seeking a DevOps Technical Lead in our IT function. The position will be based in our Amsterdam office.

 

As a DevOps Technical Lead you will be primary responsible to ensure improving the product quality and IT operations by working with Application/Product owners and IT Managers. You would be responsible for managing a team of 4 which is based remotely. The successful candidate would have experience working within an IT environment and has experience working with internal and external customers.

Key accountabilities

  • Contribute to the further development of our infrastructure architecture landscape;
  • Reflect on, improve and share technology standards, guidelines and best practices in order to avoid duplication of past mistakes;
  • Perform infrastructure quality reviews for prioritized development artefacts (architectural and solution design, system configurations, performance and load tests, testing and operational procedures);
  • Drive the introduction of "Infrastructure as Code" through building solutions, mentoring teams, and providing Continuous Integration and Deployment tool chains;
  • Have to support all build and run activities within IT, ensure architectural fit and the end-to-end quality of all IT solutions, whether in-house developed or 3rd party solutions requiring technical integration.;
  • You will take part in a 24/7 on-call schedule.

Skills & experience

  • Experience working within an IT environment;
  • Experience in mentoring and managing team members, suppliers and vendors;
  • Solid experience as a Site Reliability or DevOps Engineer. Have a broad, end-to-end understanding of IT infrastructure and platform services, but are also able to drill down to understand solution components and the factors that impact their quality;
  • Expert in technical solution design, technology architecture and technologies in an enterprise environment. Strong experience in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting IT infrastructure systems;
  • Good understanding of the Agile methodology and experience in DevOps culture, CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code;
  • Hands-on experience on automation using tools like Terraform, Python, Ansible and Bash;
  • Experience with public cloud platforms like Azure;
  • Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols;
  • Very strong team working skills, ability to promote cross-functional teamwork, pro-activeness & can-do attitude;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English (written and spoken).
