The role

We are seeking a Data Quality/ Reporting Analyst to join our Global HR Operations and Technology team. The position can be based remotely, with our head office based in Bristol.

Within your role you would be responsible for building the foundations to enable the delivery of people analytics at Imperial by enhancing the integrity and reliability of the workforce data across our systems. You would be using Workday Reporting as the primary tool to effectively drive data quality improvements, as part of you role you would be expected to perform data quality analyses, liaise with global and local teams to communicate key findings and coordinate actions to improve the integrity of our data.

The main functions of the role are divided into two areas:

  • Develop procedures and tools to enhance the integrity and reliability of our people data
  • Build and maintenance of Workday reports to support the democratisation of our workforce data and increase awareness of data quality issues

Key accountabilities

  • Developing a data quality framework to support markets driving improvements across the 6 data quality dimensions (Completeness, Consistency, Conformity, Accuracy, Integrity, Timeliness)
  • Performing data analyses and building self-service tools to determine the data integrity and reliability levels in our systems
  • Performing root-cause analyses to categories issues and communicating key findings to stakeholders
  • Collaborating with the Global HR Technology team to improve data collection and storage processes in Workday
  • Running data queries to identify potential issues and data exceptions
  • Gather and analyse data from primary and secondary systems to identify consistency issues
  • Ensure new reporting requirements follow our Reporting Governance process
  • Manage the relationship with our third-party vendor to create, maintain and deliver Workday reports on a global scale to fulfil internal and external reporting requirements
  • Building reports to support ad-hoc analysis and people analytics projects
  • Conducting the relevant maintenance duties to keep up to date our reporting catalogue
  • Contributing in the delivery and maintenance of our data dictionary together with the rest of the People Analytics & Reporting team
  • Engaging with relevant stakeholders and other members of the Global Ops Tech team to capture and prioritise new data and reporting requirements
  • Troubleshooting issues identified in close collaboration with service support and other teams
  • Building collateral, documentation, and training materials to upskill the HR community in data quality

Skills & experience

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in statistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or similar discipline.
  • Ability to comfortably deal with numbers, complex calculations, and metrics
  • Exceptional data management skills
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of best practices in data analysis
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Proficiency in programming languages
  • Workday HCM and Workday Reporting experience
  • Project management skills
