The role

As a key member of the Performance and Reward Centre of Excellence, the role holder will:

  • Lead and manage multiple Performance and Reward projects,
  • Provide technical expertise to global customers on all aspect of compensation
  • Develop, plan and lead the annual performance, bonus and salary review processes for the global senior management population
  • Deal with operational type Performance & Reward queries/transactions, including job levelling, benchmarking, and analysis type work.

Key accountabilities

  • Support the development and delivery of the Global Performance and Reward strategy, including governance frameworks and policies
  • Lead various Global Performance and Reward projects. This will include research, technical design, regulatory aspects, strategic alignment, benefit case, cost and risk.
  • Develop, plan and lead the annual performance, bonus and salary review processes for the global senior management population
  • Provide high quality and consistent advice and guidance to Regional P&C leads and business partners in relation to the company’s performance and reward strategy and approach.
  • Review performance and reward processes to drive efficiencies
  • Provide advice to the business on job levelling and benchmarking
  • Continuously improve the use of advanced compensation capability in Workday to streamline existing reward activities; e.g. annual reward processes; benchmarking requests.
  • Be an active member of the People and Culture community to ensure global reward policies remain globally consistent and locally relevant.
  • Identify external performance and reward trends and themes

Skills & Experience


  • Strong reward and benefits background
  • Excellent project management skills and experience of leading global projects
  • Fluent English (spoken and written) with the ability to present clear, well-structured presentations and reports
  • Excellent teamworking and communication skills
  • Good knowledge of developments and expertise in Reward and global benefits
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills –Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Experience in a specialist role, operating with a high degree of autonomy
  • Experience of the development of innovative approaches to complex problems
  • Flexibility and pragmatism and the ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Ability to work in collaboration with other senior professionals whose expertise is vital when agreeing strategic plans and or major programmes of work
  • The ability to make logical, well-balanced and reasoned decisions
  • A commitment to demonstrating the organisational leadership expectations, values and behaviours that underpin the culture and value of the Company

  • A willingness to work flexibly as and when required


  • Experience of working in a complex International organisation with a proactive flexible and inclusive management style
  • Experience in all areas of reward management ideally gained from FMCG sector
  • University Degree
  • Ability to speak another language
  • Some travel may be required
