The Role

The Global Communication team is at the forefront of this change. Making sure employees are engaged and inspired by our new approach is fundamental. Looking for new and innovative ways to tell the story using online and offline communication channels is what we’re all about. So, we’re looking for a talented, creative content/communications executive to help us raise the content bar.

Reporting to the Global Content Lead, this role will support the IC team to deliver high-quality internal content and communications, so we continue to play a significant and vital role in improving our employees’ experience at Imperial Brands.

Key accountabilities

  • Working as part of Global Communications, and in the content team, the role holder will:
    • Design, develop and produce engaging and compelling global content and communications for Imperial Brands (IB).
    • Plan, create, update, and deliver multi-media communications and content across multiple channels:
  • Produce, make, write, source, edit and curate all communications, content, and assets: including visuals, images; posts, articles, newsletters; animations/films/videos etc.
  • Manage content, through existing internal communications channels and production schedules, including uploading content to the intranet, managing the Yammer community, creating Poppulo plug-ins supporting with live and remote events. The role holder will also support with the ongoing development of new and improved channels.
    • Support the wider team development, delivery and implementation of global campaigns, events and webinars and wider communications initiatives.
    • Manage and facilitate content schedules and calendars. Working with the Global Internal Communications team, ensuring there are regular, effective flows of communication across the group.
    • Lead on/Support the development and delivery of measurement tools and communications dashboards to ensure, through the data and intel, continued improvement to the quality of content and communications across the group.
    • Manage/Day to day management of a central media and content repository for the IB Group, ensuring content is accessible and managed effectively and efficiently.
    • Leading our global Yammer community (internal social media) into a key communication channel for the business. scheduling posts to support our communications goals.
    • Researching, writing, and uploading stories and features to our global intranet along with supporting audio and visual assets. Don’t think these are needed now?
    • Working with external agencies to develop content and material to support communication campaigns.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • A can-do approach, a curious nature, and a desire to learn.
  • A passion for making eye-catching, sticky content that tells a compelling story through both words and pictures.
  • Creativity and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent copy writing and editorial skills - able to create original copy and edit existing content (must be fluent in English - both oral and written)
  • The content production experience, gained in a creative agency, further education or a corporate or commercial environment.
  • At least 2-3 technical skills from the top six bullets in the desirable column,
  • Working in a demanding environment to deadlines, juggling workloads and priorities.
  • Quality checking and proofing.
  • Good understanding of the Digital Workplace and how technology can support employees.
  • Digitally literate and knowledge of Microsoft Suite (MS) products such as Modern SharePoint, Teams, and Yammer.
  • Understanding of content management systems such as intranets and other digital media.

Desirable

  • Filmmaking and editing experience - Developing scripts, editing and video production.
  • Graphic design and animation.
  • UX and accessibility design.
  • Magazine production/editorial experience
  • Researching and writing blog content, papers, social content/posts, and articles
  • Podcast production.
  • Good working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, and any other audio-visual production tech and how that works with MS suite in a corporate environment
  • How a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) company operates.
  • University degree in a relevant subject.
