For our Human Resources team in Hamburg, we are looking for a new Compensation & Benefits Manager (m/f/d).

The role

Reporting to the HR Director Germany & Cluster DACH & Nordics you will manage and drive the Compensation & Benefits agenda in Germany. You will be responsible for the operation, development and implementation of the C&B strategy for Germany in line with global Imperial Brands C&B guidelines. 

What are your major duties?

You will be responsible for the

  • Annual financial reports (German-GAAP / IFRS), coordination and instruction of actuaries, ensuring correctness of provisions in time and compliance with tax, labour law and reporting standards in close cooperation with Finance, local & global actuaries and auditors.
  • Status information about Employees’ individual pension entitlements; Pension rights adjustments, Employee consultation in all aspects of retirement benefits including state pension scheme.
  • Management of several Compensation & Benefits schemes: Deferred Compensation Scheme, Direct Insurance, Hamburger Pensionskasse (HPK).
  • Social Plan & Termination Agreements: Ensure correctness of costs and provision (IFRS, German GAAP, Tax law), compliance & correctness, provide discussion papers.
  • Share Plans: Sharesave, Share Match, Long Term Incentive Plans incl. invitation, maturity, taxation, Employee consultation, cooperation with Providers (Computershare, Equiniti); Annual Share Status Statements to ensure tax compliance.
  • Leading and Coaching the Compensation &Benefits Team incl. the Payroll Manager who is leading the Payroll teams in Hamburg and Langenhagen.

Who are you?

  • You hold a relevant university degree in Business Administration (including experience in managing Company Pension Schemes / Company-direct commitments) or Economic Mathematics
  • You have significant actuarial experience and skills
  • You have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) as well as strong negotiation, influencing and presentation skills
  • You are effective at organizing and delivering projects that include multiple stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to learn quickly, acquire new skills and solve problems with a solution orientated approach
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong IT skills (e.g. MS Office) plus the ability to learn new IT systems
  • You have outstanding Excel skills
  • Excellent verbal and written German and English skills
