Job Description

Role: Communications Lead  - Novo / Transformation programme

Location: Bristol (Flexible – UK with access to Bristol, with flexibility for remote working arrangements also considered).

The role holder leads the Communications workstream for Project Novo, both directly within the programme and indirectly across the whole of Imperial. The Novo programme combines commercial deliverables, operating model changes, restructuring  and significant cultural and behavioural change. This role will be instrumental in developing the plan to engage employees with owning and driving that change.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Lead the design and ongoing delivery of the integrated programme wide communications plan – to include audience, channel, activation, purpose timing, content creation
  • Provide range of communications assets that tell the story of transformation and enable local deployment leads to effectively communicate operating model changes where they work
  • Provide a programme wide view of comms activity (global, functional ,regional, cluster and market view as necessary) to the Transformation Team
  • Develop and ownership of programme wide stakeholder analysis and integrated communications plan. Team-up with workstream leads, PMO colleagues and Programme Planning teams to develop and maintain change deployment communication plan and assets.
  • Writing and collating internal communications updates as part of the Transformation Programme reporting for Board/Exco/ SteerCo/ Community calls as necessary
  • Work closely with the Global internal communications team to leverage BAU communications content and channels to tell the change story
  • Seek and utilise appropriate technology solutions (within the Imperial tech landscape) to enable two-way engagement and insight gathering from employees
  • Coach and enable additional Project team members in the transformation comms squad (and wider if necessary) to drive a consistent and cohesive change narrative and produce thorough comms plans for all workstreams

Generate insights and use purpose built dashboards to track effectiveness of the impact of overall communications

Key Experience

  • Significant experience leading internal communications across large, complex, matrix organisations.
  • Leading communications and engagement programmes during complex Business Transformation programmes in more than one organisation
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills

Ability to lead matrix cross-functional teams of peers
