For our Lab Network team, we are looking for a Laboratory Quality & Systems Manager (m/f/d)!

The role

IMB labs are producing analytical data to report to regulatory bodies around the world, including US FDA. Accreditation of the Quality Management System (QMS) to ISO 17025 and implementation of GxP elements relevant to tobacco products are critical to ensure that reported data are accepted by regulators. The Lab Quality & IT Manager role defines and implements the lab Quality management as well as managing the Lab IT team. The role also ensures that all processes and systems adhere to those standards. In co-operation with the Manager Lab Ops and Lab Managers, the role ensures that the validity and integrity of lab data can be proven in external and internal audits.

What are your major duties?

  • Define and implement Lab Network Quality Management
  • Manage the Lab IT strategy and team
  • Maintain and improve a quality-focussed mindset within all labs
  • Ensure all lab processes and systems adhere to relevant standards (ISO 17025, parts of GLP guidelines relevant to Tobacco Product inspections)
  • Lead Lab Network through external and internal QMS audits together with Quality team
  • Lead the QMS strategy and maintenance
  • Implement User Requirement Specifications for purchasing of lab systems
  • Ensure audit trails and systems validations are in place as required
  • Oversee lab IT systems to support data integrity and improve lab efficiency
  • Prepare and conduct supplier audits

Who are you?

  • You hold a university degree in analytical chemistry, natural science, chemical engineering or a related subject
  • Proven experience (5-10 years) in quality management of analytical labs in a regulated environment (e.g. Tobacco Products, CROs, Pharma)
  • Excellent knowledge of QM systems and requirements of ISO 17025
  • In-depth understanding of data integrity requirements of ISO 17025
  • Operational experience with LIMS and other lab IT systems
  • Excellent people management and communication skills
  • Proven project, change and stakeholder management capabilities
  • Open-mindness, resilience and strategic thinking
  • Business language English plus native / fluent German essential
  • Operational experience in Lean six sigma
  • Knowledge of QM systems and requirements of GxP
  • In depth understanding of data integrity requirements of GxP
  • Working knowledge or expertise in Validations of Databases, Custom Software, Configurable Software, Non-Configurable Software, Infrastructure Software, Off-the-shelf software and various computerized systems
