The role

We have a new, exciting opportunity for an experienced Internal Communications Business Partner to join our Group Corporate Communications team based at our head office in Bristol. Reporting into the Head of Internal Communications you will support the central planning of communication by providing a source of information on communications activity for Manufacturing & Supply Chain and ESG. You’ll also have the additional focus of further developing communication channels.

This is a new area for us, so you will have the rare opportunity to shape this journey from the beginning and make a real business impact.

Key accountabilities

  • Supporting the Group Communications Team in establishing and the Internal Communications approach across the business
  • Responsible for the implementation of this approach in Manufacturing and Supply Chain, ESG
  • Work closely with members of the Imperial Leadership Team and their management teams to establish individual tailored approaches to communications in their areas.
  • Design and delivery of inspiring responses to functional communications requirements
  • Apply internal communications best practice from elsewhere in the business and externally
  • Contribute functional communications information to the central Group Communications team calendar
  • Provide content to central and Group wide communications which support our overall communications and organisational goals
  • Own the delivery of group wide projects to enhance our Internal Communications approach on an ad hoc basis.

Skills & experience

  • Previous experience working in Internal Communications and proven ability to take personal responsibility and accountability for a large Communications programme.
  • Previous experience working in an organisation with an unconnected workforce
  • Sound knowledge of communicating with people working in a manufacturing/supply chain environment
  • Excellent knowledge of industry leading Internal Communications best practice
  • Good verbal communications and interpersonal skills with excellent written skills.
  • Experience managing communication projects independently, working to the business or communication strategies.
  • Good knowledge of how to support cultural and organisational change
  • A genuine interest in the development of the ESG agenda
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, specifically PowerPoint, SharePoint and Yammer
  • Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across various levels of the business.
