Job Role

Reporting to the Market Manager Ireland, this is an important role within the Trade Marketing Team and critical to the overall success of Tob Max in the UK&I. 

The Trade Marketing Executive will be supporting the implementation of a significant program of activation initiatives through all trade channels and directly to shoppers. The role is responsible for successfully co creating, planning and implementing a full suite of comprehensive marketing tools, across various traditional retail channels, in both online and offline capacities.

The Trade Marketing Executive is also expected to contribute to the activation of outstanding shopper experiences, track spend and support in the delivery of KPIs which will contribute to the success of our brands.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support all trade activation plans with the creation and delivery of innovative marketing tools for online and offline trade customers.
  • Full end to end management of our trade engagement platform ignite, including all e-commerce functionality, the trade partner program, trade communications and brand advocacy.
  • Responsible for management of ignite rewards program including weekly/monthly/quarterly program recommendations aligned to cycle focus. Setting targets by outlet by sku based on agreed volume. Cyclical reporting and uploading of reward allocations by customer. Resolution of any customer queries relating to the rewards program.
  • Development and implementation of regular customer communications regarding all aspects of our trade partner program.
  • Full management and administration of our e-commerce pages, ensuring portfolio and pricing (RRP & Trade Cost) always reflect actuals, including real time management of pricing events, news and brand articles.
  • Determine, scope out & manage platform development requirements with partner agency ensuring all work is delivered to agreed timescales and budget.
  • Management of ignite customer database ensuring all data held on the platform complies with internal requirements and external regulations e.g. GDPR. Database is updated on a weekly basis and aligned to other internal systems such as Salesforce, SAP and UKIR.
  • Management of all annual Digital Trade Partnerships with priority customers and activation of agreed digital assets aligned to account specific calendars ensuring full visibility of costs and ROI.
  • Monitor and benchmark competitor activities, category trends and shopper habits, recommending plans and actions to ensure shopper activation surges ahead of the competition.
  • Identify activation opportunities and propose innovative solutions to solve them.
  • Establish close working relationships with Cluster functions, Global Marketing (Tob Max) and Division and Fontem to ensure mutually beneficial success of the Cluster.
  • Agree and monitor appropriate operational KPIs and reporting, proactively taking remedial action to resolve any identified issues or concerns.



  • Experience of successful delivery of omni-channel activation via the trade.
  • An understanding of the roles of different media across the marketing mix including digital marketing and ecommerce management, with proven experience of working with activation agencies.
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills in a complex matrix organisation.
  • Able to demonstrate an entrepreneurial, growth mindset, with the ability to be proactive, confident and self-motivated and prepared to challenge conventional thinking.



  • Previous work experience in production of insight led presentations which drive business recommendations
  • Ability to think laterally and creatively – to deliver ideas and initiatives and contribute to discussion.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to create targets, understand performance and deliver insights taken from raw sales data.
