Fontem Ventures, a subsidiary of Imperial Brands plc is a leader in vaping technology and owns e-vapour brand blu. Headquartered in Amsterdam, Netherlands, and with its research & development centre in Liverpool, UK, Fontem Ventures develops and commercialises vaping products under the blu brand.

THE ROLE

The NPI Engineer EVP will lead New Product Introduction projects and drive EVP (Electronic Vapor Product) product manufacturing capabilities and process introductions at both Imperial Brands and partner factories.

You will also work very closely with the R&D teams in conjunction with Imperial’s Quality and Manufacturing sites in order to optimise and implement product and process improvements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead product and process implementation projects to facilitate Imperial’s Next Generation Product Pipeline
• Ensuring best practise methodology is used to define, analyse, improve and control any EVP product faults
• Generate, embed and continuously improve Engineering SOPs to support all qualification and validation activities
• Communicate with R&D and the manufacturing sites to ensure a smooth transition from design to manufacturing
• Collaborate with the regulatory teams to ensure compliance for all product and process introductions
• Collaborate with external stakeholders and with Quality and Operations teams
• Cost management for all activities with close controls on project and overhead spend
• Collaborate with Change Control to lead and drive any product or process changes
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement both internally and within the factories
• Lead Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) processes
• Drive and lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on products
• Supporting PMTA submissions as required

YOUR PROFILE

• Minimum Bachelor in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• Solid experience in consumer electronics industry
• Being autonomous and result-driven
• Natural problem solver and ability to deal with complex tasks
• Able to collaborate with a strong will to learn and develop
• Working knowledge with CAD software such as Solidworks
• Able to deal with a changing environment and requirements
• Excellent professional level of English (spoken and written)
• Expertise in design, new product introduction and/ or manufacturing
• Experience with product and process development for high volume Mass Production
