Here at Imperial Brands we have a brand new opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager to join our Global IT organisation. Reporting into the Head of IT Finance, you will be responsible for a combined IT budget of approx. 60 million GBP rising significantly following transformation. In this key hands on role you will deliver timely and accurate financial reporting, produce insightful performance analysis, lead the accounting and financial governance processes within Central IT and support the IT Finance Lead and IT Leadership team in financial strategy and budgeting.

This is an exciting time to join the team as IT embarks on a transformation to become a truly global IT function and this role will be instrumental in establishing the financial processes to enable transparency and control across a global cost base. The exposure to senior leaders will enable the successful candidate to build their leadership capabilities and offer a platform to advance their future career.

Key accountabilities

  • Deliver proper accounting and compliance treatment of IT spend with consistently & accurately applied allocation methodology
  • Produce accurate, well presented and timely financial reports and analysis for forecasting, monthly actuals and root cause analysis of monthly variances.
  • Deliver effective financial governance of transactions across the central IT functions with specific accountability for Central IT and Globally Managed Services.
  • Lead the development of effective cost centre structures ensuring strong governance and transparency over financial commitments made by the IT teams.
  • Business partner with the wider Finance team, providing a key point of contact for Global IT Finance MI requirements ensuring the IT financial planning and forecasting processes are aligned.
  • Improve processes for all global IT finance related areas, including, budget and financial management.
  • Deliver a monthly review of IT expenses as part of the month end close process.
  • Assist the analysis and definition of finance data structures along with automating and driving forward our reporting offering.
  • Deliver continuous improvement in recharging methodology and automation.

Skills & experience

  • Significant experience in an Accounting/Finance function with proven experience in the field of financial planning/analysis.
  • Strong hands on knowledge of SAP
  • Good understanding of Finance Data entities such as Cost Centres.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel modelling skills, and advanced competency in using Microsoft Office suite applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Superb communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with an ability to engage (non-financial) stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated influencing skills including negotiation and conflict management with a service mindset.
  • Ability to drive for efficiencies and display a continuous improvement mindset.

Desirable

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification by experience)
  • Knowledge of an ERP Reporting module or a Data Warehouse Tool.
  • Previous transformation experience would be an advantage
  • Experience in an IT Finance setting.
