The Role

Are you passionate about creating products that redefine consumer experiences? As an Ingredient Technologist, you’ll play a pivotal role in developing the next generation of products and combustibles that power our ambitious innovation programme and growth plans.

In this role, you’ll be the vital link between flavour houses and our Innovations teams, ensuring seamless implementation of our Innovation Management Process (IMP). Flavour is a key driver of consumer preference, and your expertise will be central to delivering our Next Generation Product ambitions.

Principle Accountabilities

- Drive Innovation in Next Generation Products: Play a key role in developing flavours and ingredients for cutting-edge products like e-liquids, Heated Tobacco, and Oral Nicotine. Your work will directly influence consumer experience and product success.

- Collaborate Across Global Teams and Partners: Work closely with flavour houses, internal innovation teams, and external technology partners to bring new ideas to life. Build strong relationships and ensure seamless project delivery.

- Lead Technical Development and Prototyping: Prepare, assess, and prototype new ingredients and flavours, supporting scale-up trials and factory workshops. Your expertise will help transform concepts into market-ready products.

- Be the Subject Matter Expert: Provide guidance and technical advice to cross-functional teams including Front-End Innovation, Science, Engineering, and Quality. Your knowledge will shape decisions and improve outcomes.

- Stay Ahead of Trends and Technologies: Keep a sharp eye on emerging flavour trends and new technologies, assessing their potential for our innovation pipeline. Your insights will help us stay ahead in a fast-moving industry.

- Ensure Quality, Safety, and Compliance: Manage documentation, risk assessments, and IP protection to maintain the highest standards of quality and safety. Your attention to detail will safeguard our innovation process.

Skills and Experience Required

- Strong Technical Foundation: A degree in Food Technology, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field – or equivalent experience that demonstrates your expertise.

- Collaborative and Purposeful: Ability to work independently while thriving in a team environment and able to collaborate with diverse stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions.

- Accountable and Inclusive: Take ownership of your work with confidence, while fostering authenticity and inclusivity in everything you do.

- Hands-On Innovation: Experience in prototype development and a passion for turning ideas into tangible products that shape the future.

- Problem-Solving Mindset: Skilled in planning, time management, and report writing, with the ability to break down complex challenges into achievable goals and deliver effective solutions.

- Continuous Learner: A drive for learning and improvement, open to new ideas, techniques, and innovative approaches that push boundaries.
